My Sunrise

Poetry

sunset closeup.JPG

In the darkness I heard a voice

calling me in deep cello tones

to not be afraid to break free from

my chrysalis and fly.

In the darkness I felt a touch

a whisper in my hair

combing through

my lonely tangled soul.

In the darkness I found your light

a hand to hold to pull me up and out

to greet a day so bright

my eyes hurt from the wonder of it.

the voice

the touch

the light

gave me hope I never knew

which opened me

to loving you.
